Private Cataract

How we make money

Last reviewed 5 October 2026 by Pete, editor (not a clinician). Figures checked 5 October 2026.

Private Cataract is free for you. If you ask, we pass your request to one partner eye clinic or hospital that covers your area, and that clinic may pay us a fee for the introduction. No clinic can pay to change a price, a table row or what a page says.

Who pays us?

Only partner clinics, and only for introductions. We are an introducer. We are not paid by you, by the NHS, or by anyone for a table position. Listing a clinic in a price table does not mean it is a partner.

Is anyone paying us now?

On 5 October 2026, no partner clinic had signed with us yet. Until one does, we store requests, but nobody will contact you about them, and the page after the form tells you so.

Does a fee change what you see?

No. Prices come from PHIN and from clinics' own pages, with the link and the date we checked. We delete a row we cannot re-check, whoever it belongs to. We do not rank surgeons or clinics, and we do not publish star ratings.

What does the clinic get?

Your details from the form, once you have ticked the consent box: town or postcode, which eye, how soon, how you are paying, whether you are already on an NHS list, lens interest, name, phone, email and your note. Nothing is booked, and no date is held, until you agree it with the clinic.

Why tell you this?

Because you should know who might be paid before you ask anyone to call you. The same words sit under the button on every form.

Do I pay anything to use Private Cataract?

No. A partner clinic may pay us a fee for the introduction.

Do clinics pay to appear in your price tables?

No. Tables show published prices with a source link and date. Being listed does not mean being a partner.
